Grandma's New Place

Yesterday Grandma moved into her new place. It is so much nicer than her former place, I can't even believe it. Her room is wonderful--large and light and bright and comfortable; the staff is professional and very friendly; and so far she LOVES the food. I can see why; when we went over today for lunch, she had waldorf salad and turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, cornbread, and pumpkin pie that were truly worthy of Thanksgiving (It looked like they actually cooked a real turkey--not a pressed poultry patty!). Now I'm actually worried she could gain weight! :)

The kids are thrilled because the assisted living place is adjacent to a large park and playground, so Grandma can just walk out and play with us when we visit her.

Hooray! We are so blessed to have Grandma here with us and I am so glad she will be happy now!

Apple Picking

In our homeschool, we love field trips the best!
On Wednesday, we went apple picking with some of our homeschool friends.
As you can see, it was a gorgeous day! Grandma came too and we all enjoyed picking and eating lots of apples and raspberries.

Now if I can just figure out what to do with all these apples! :) In addition to favorite standbys apple pie and apple crisp, tonight we're having apple pork chops and I'm hoping to try making an apple pizza dessert with the kids.
