Have I mentioned how much I LOVE spring? Everyone else around here loves fall best, but spring's my favorite, at least here in the midwest. I'm just a junkie for all the flowers. Today was one of those days that reminds me why I love this time of year so much!
Welcome Back...
to my little blog--our online photo album, schoolwork portfolio, and journal of my deepest wisdom and innermost secret thoughts. Or something like that.

May Crowning
Today the kids had a school field trip to a gorgeous park in our area. You can hike up to a quaint little Marian chapel, and the kids did a May Crowning and spent the whole day playing at the park. We met them for lunch and both MPD and JPD had a blast hanging out with the big kids.

Eagle Watching
Friday we took a field trip with Grandma out to an area along the Wisconsin River where bald eagles spend the winter. We saw several eagles in the wild, which was great! They spend most of their time snuggled into their roosting spots, conserving energy for the cold. although it was hard to get a good photo, we got a good view of this one, who was quite near the road.

Apple Picking
In our homeschool, we love field trips the best!
On Wednesday, we went apple picking with some of our homeschool friends.
As you can see, it was a gorgeous day! Grandma came too and we all enjoyed picking and eating lots of apples and raspberries.

Now if I can just figure out what to do with all these apples! :) In addition to favorite standbys apple pie and apple crisp, tonight we're having apple pork chops and I'm hoping to try making an apple pizza dessert with the kids.

Strawberry Fields Forever
It is impossible to capture the perfection of this afternoon in pictures. We probably only spent an hour at the strawberry field, but it certainly fit the description of "golden afternoon."
We all just loved it.
And then, we all just loved coming home and making strawberry shortcake!
"Mommy, I wish the baby could sit up in the field."
"Don't worry--before too long, he'll be sitting up in the pumpkin patch!"
