Thoughts for the Day

"We ought to be persuaded that what God refuses to our prayer, He grants to our salvation."
~ St. Augustine (This guy doesn't miss a trick!)

When I was Protestant, in times of great stress (or even just a little stress), I would sleep with my big ole Bible. No kidding. Now I often sleep with my Rosary, of course.

Some verses for the day:
"Consider it all joy my brethren when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance."
~ James 1:3

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
~ Romans 12:2

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
~ Ephesians 6:12.

"...whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things."
~ Philippians 4:8

"And be sure of this: I am with you always, even until the end of the age."
~ Matt 28:20

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Let us pray. Pour forth, we beseech thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
